AROUND THE WORLD

TOTAL VISITORS

Will insensitive companies really stop at nothing to promote their products? It sadly seems so. First the horribly oblivious PR reps at CelebBoutique made the Twitterverse explode on Friday after promoting their Kim Kardashian-inspired "Aurora" dress (which they've since pulled from the site). And now this:
Just three days after the massacre in Aurora, Colo. that killed 12 unsuspecting mover-goers, the publicists at Machine Guns Vegas, a Las Vegas lounge and gun range, apparently thought that now would be the perfect time to announce the launch of its new "Louis Vuitton" grip handgun. (All together now, "Ew.")

The press release read 'round the fashion world stated: "Like Marc Jacobs putting Sponge Bob Square Pants onto LV monogrammed bags, Machine Guns Vegas has created their own Louis Vuitton accessory – a monogrammed Louis Vuitton grip for a handgun – which is legal to carry in the State of Nevada."

According to a report from Fashionista, the trademark-preserving fashion house says it is in no way affiliated with the gun range, nor did it approve the use of its monogram for the gun grips.
